The mobile acoustic panel forms a sound-absorbing perimeter around a work zone, a noisy machine or a temporary site in just a few minutes – no construction site fence, no foundation, no heavy equipment. The panels link together modularly, are reusable and are suitable for workshops, industrial sites, construction sites and events.
Insulate and absorb in a single element
Unlike a plain noise barrier mat, the acoustic panel combines a dense PVC outer skin (sound insulation) with an open-pored structure facing the noise source (sound absorption). The side facing the noise source swallows sound energy instead of throwing it back into the work area; the dense rear side holds back the rest. The result: lower levels outside and inside the perimeter. Read the background in our guide Sound insulation vs. sound absorption.
Technical data
| Format | 1.30 m × 2.50 m (standard), special sizes on request |
|---|---|
| Construction | PVC outer skin, PE foam core, PVC mesh on the absorption side, aluminium frame |
| Weighted sound reduction index | R′w (C; Ctr) = 20 dB (−2; −5) |
| Sound absorption | weighted sound absorption coefficient αw = 1, absorption class A to EN ISO 11654 |
| Noise reduction in practice | up to 30 dB when positioned close to the source (manufacturer’s figure, depending on the installation situation) |
| Set-up | feet in ground sockets or on metal plates; free-standing, no foundation |
| Connection | panels link side by side into walls, corners and closed enclosures |
| Use | indoors and outdoors, weatherproof, reusable many times over |
Typical applications
- Workshops and production halls: screening of sawing, grinding and milling stations, noise protection for neighbouring workstations.
- Localised construction site work: core drilling, cutting, chiselling – the panel moves with the trade.
- Stationary noise sources: enclosure of compressors, generators and pumps (see Noise control for generators).
- Events and temporary installations: fast, free-standing screening without erecting a fence.
Advantages over mats and construction site fences
- Free-standing – no construction site fence, no cable ties, no scaffolding
- Absorbing inner side also lowers the level at the workstation (occupational health and safety)
- Lightweight aluminium frame, can be moved by two people
- Modular: length, corners and closed boxes freely configurable
- Reusable at any number of sites
If you need to screen long fence runs, noise barrier mats on the construction site fence remain the more economical solution; for high barriers we recommend the inflatable noise barrier. The acoustic panel plays to its strengths with compact, mobile perimeters and with indoor noise sources.
